Science apps are the most abundant in iTunes. There are several solar systems, and periodic table. If you search science in iTunes, you will find pages. The only thing science apps are missing is a projection app.

Here is a couple of videos of science apps being used. These videos illustrate how simple it is to take an activity that takes time to setup and space to store the items. Now a student can open an app and they are ready to go. The one to the left is a video of the 3D4 Medical Anatomy app in action. The video to the right is Frog Dissection.

Periodic Table Plus
Learning has never been more fun. Organizing the elements in chemistry has never been easier than through the Mendeleev's periodic table. Here is a tribute to this great scientist. This application is a colorful visualization of the periodic table that will leave indelible impressions of factual chemistry in the young minds. For the inquisitive, the application provides a full page detail of many of the properties of the elements. The 'Pick & Place' game, with multiple skill levels, will dramatically change the way we learn about the elements in chemistry. Put yourself in the Mendeleev's shoes; drag the elements one by one to where you think they should go in order to make the complete periodic table.

iElements.jpg
iElements - Periodic Table of the Chemical Elements
The periodic table of the chemical elements is a tabular display of the chemical elements. Although precursors to this table exist, its invention is generally credited to Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869, who intended the table to illustrate recurring ("periodic") trends in the properties of the elements. The layout of the table has been refined and extended over time, as new elements have been discovered, and new theoretical models have been developed to explain chemical behavior.

Frog Dissection
Frog Dissection, winner of PeTA’s Mark Twain Ethical Science award, is a very user-friendly iPad app that helps you learn more about frog dissection, virtually. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) were involved in taking this app from conceptualization to its final execution. Their inputs played an important role in designing the app to be scientifically accurate and user-friendly. Frog Dissection allows you to dissect a chloroformed specimen complete with dissection instruments-pins, scalpel, marker, and forceps. Step-by-step instructions and 3D views give it a very realistic feel. The best aspect of the app is the 3D imaging of the frog’s anatomy that help the user visualize the internal organs very effectively. The clear dissection sequence gives students a feel for the real thing. The app is a great educational tool for those who might have formalin allergies, feel uneasy about live dissections and/or don’t like the smell and mess of a wet lab.

So you're asking, what is BIOLOGY? Well... Here's our best definition. Biology is the study of LIFE and the changes that take place with and around all living things. And don't just think we mean Earth. The study of biology covers every planet and object in the Universe.

In the same way everything on Earth is made up of atoms, everything that is alive on Earth is made up of cells. An entire living thing can be one cell or it can be billions. Most cells on Earth have similar pieces and parts. Let's get started and look inside cell structure. Go take a look!

Discussion questions after the reading help build interest and comprehension. Learner objectives: main idea and details, content vocabulary.

Learning A–Z provides materials delivered online and through the iTunes Store that help children learn to read, write, and discover the wonders of science. All our materials are leveled so that children can access information at their reading level. Our leveled readers begin at level aa with labeling objects. In level A simple sentences are presented. With each level thereafter the sentences get more complex and the words become a little more difficult.

A QUICK GUIDE IN PLACING YOUR CHILD at the appropriate reading level is to understand that level aa to C provides average kindergarten instruction; D to J—first grade; K to Q—second grade; R to U—third grade; V to Z—fourth and fifth grade. The letters earliest in the alphabet match beginning of the year instruction while letters at the end of each grade range match skills at the end of that grade year.
