How do I get Apps to this device? Or If you are new to the mobile world, what is an App?
App or an application is a program that can be installed on to the device. The app will have an icon associated with it. An app can be purchased through iTunes App Store on your computer or through the App Store app on the iPad (If you need to download iTunes, click
). An iTunes account/Apple ID will be needed to download apps. Some apps may have a cost attached to them, others are free. The prices listed to the far right in the apps' table are subject to change as prices can increase or decrease depending on the developer.
Notes on Selecting Apps:
When selecting an app, there is not one app that is perfect for everyone. Every teacher and classroom has different needs from an app. It is recommended that you try at least three or four apps in a certain area to figure out which one best meets your needs of your classroom. I usually try 5 or 6 apps to figure out which one I want to use. Every app has something cool that other apps do not have.
The default apps on the iPad are App Store; Calendar; Contacts; iTunes; Mail; Maps; Notes; Photos; Photobooth; Safari; Videos, and Clock. Apps can be added through the App store or iTunes on a computer.
